3 days trip to Ait Benhaddou UNESCO site and Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – ait ben haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges
Your 3 days trip begins today. Pick up at 8 o’clock in the morning from your accommodation in Marrakech. We will depart for Ouarzazate through the famous Tizi N’tichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, with snow on its peaks most of the year; and appreciate the beauty of the landscape on the twisted road through the Berber villages. We’ll get to Ait Ben Haddou village, where the famous Kasbah, built by the last Berber chieftain El Glaoui Ethami, late 19th century.

The Kasbah is recognized as a UNESCO matrimonial historical site, now a house of many Glaoui family members. Lunch by the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and continue to Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa”, where you have the option to visit and see many props used in movies you may already have seen such as Gladiator, Kondon, and Alexander the Great, Mummy, Asterix…Then, you continue to Dades Gorges via Sekoura Oasis and the valley of the Pinks and the road of the miles Kasbahs in Kalaat M’gouna, the famous city for the annual festival of the pinks (see a gum of natural products extracted from the pinks). Overnight accommodation will be in a hotel in Dades Gorges.

Day 2 : Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga
Today’s tour continues from the Dades Gorge to the Todra Gorge in Tinghir. Here, you’ll take a walk through the gorges lined with high cliffs). Next, you’ll head for the ZIZ valley town of Erfoud, famous for its Marmar fossil factory and date souk. Then on to Merzouga. On arrival, after a Berber tea, you’ll set off by camel for the bivouac where you’ll spend the night in a Berber tent in the middle of the dunes (Erg Chebbi). You can take photos of the sunset and sunrise over the dunes. After a special dinner, you’ll enjoy a Berber music show around the fire.

Day 3: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Very early in the morning. You wake up very early to contemplate the spectacular sunrise you have never seen at the top of the dunes. Afterward, you will return to your hotel on camels after breakfast. Afterward, you will start the last day of your tour by crossing an arid pre-desert area. You will have stops in the middle of the Draa Valley to enjoy beautiful views of Morocco’s long river. Your journey continues to Ouarzazate crossing the Anti-Atlas mountains. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will continue to Marrakech. Then end of tour 3 days trip.
