Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Gorges du Ziz – Erfoud – Desert of Merzouga.
Today the “6 days from Fes to Marrakech Sahara desert trip” will start around 8 am. We will go through the city of Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco to the Atlas mountains and the cedar forests of Azrou. We stop to see the monkeys in the middle of the forest. The circuit continues to Midelt where we will have lunch.
We will reach the valley of Ziz and its gorges. You will visit the blue spring of Meski. and also fossil workshops for the manufacture of all kinds of products. Finally, we will arrive in Merzouga at the end of the afternoon. After a break and a mint tea in front of the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will go on camel backs to spend the night under the stars in a luxury and private bivouac.
Day 2: Merzouga (the tour of the dunes):
This stage allows you to enjoy magnificent sunrises and sunsets on the summits of the dunes of erg Chebbi. After breakfast, make the departure to the village BEGAA to visit sharks teeth and then continue to Khamliya village: a village of descendants slaves of sub-Saharan peoples of Malian or Guinean origin (see the dance and music Gnawa ), the night will be in an inn in Merzouga at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
The awakening is so early today to be able to attend the sunrise on the summits of the dunes of Erg Chebbi. After breakfast, leave for the Dades Gorge. the first stop will be at the former imperial city of Morocco “Rissani”. it is an economic center of the region and a site of many historical monuments of the Alaouite dynasty.
You will have the opportunity to visit the lively local market and its historical monuments. After, we will continue our step toward the impressive canyons of Todra, known for their climbing. You will go for a walk under the gorges with high cliffs. After lunch, we head to the Dades Gorge via the Thousand Kasbahs road. You will visit the huge Kasbahs on both sides of the road. Some of these casbahs are old fortified houses that have been restored. Overnight and accommodation will be in the Dades Valley.
Day 4: Dades Gorge – Rose Kalaa Magouna – Ait Ben Hadou – Ouarzazate
A scenic route awaits you through Kalaat M’gouna and the thousand kasbah road. The city is famous for the annual celebration of roses and its products made from roses. We continue to the oasis of Sekoura to visit the Kasbah Ameridil, beautifully surrounded by palm groves. After, we will continue our route to Morocco-Hollywood Ouarzazate and the photogenic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. The latter was a resting place for caravans in the past and also the scene of many international films nowadays. Ait Benhaddou also is a site registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987. the night will be in Ouarzazate in a riad.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Departure for Marrakech, entering the Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains (7269 feet) enjoying one of the most scenic roads in Morocco. Arrival in Marrakech. The evening will be free to enjoy the show of Jamaa Lafna Square. The night will be in a riad.
Day 6: Marrakech (city tour)
Today is devoted to exploring the red city of Marrakech and visiting these best places. a local guide will lead you to discover the Menara, the minaret of Koutoubia (the twin tower of the Giralda in Seville, Spain). The visit also consists of tombs of Saadiens composed of splendid mausoleums built in the sixteenth century and Majorelle gardens. Lunch at a local restaurant and after you explore the souk near the famous Jamaa Lefna Square. Dinner and night in a local riad not far from the square. Today is the end of your Sahara tour
