Day 1: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat:
The first day of our “Morocco holiday from Marrakech” starts from Marrakech to Casablanca. Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will visit the Hassan 2 mosque (the 3rd largest in the world), the church of the Sacred Heart built-in 1930. The church looks like a Gothic cathedral and was used as a conference and exhibition center, the Mahkama building Pacha in the district of Habous, then the beach of Casablanca.
Then you head to Rabat, the administrative capital of Morocco. After lunch, you will discover the city of Rabat. The city is located on the Atlantic coast. It is the political and administrative capital of Morocco. It was designed at the time of the French protectorate in the early twentieth century and embodies a distinctive architectural and decorative style characteristic of contemporary Morocco. You will visit the royal palace, the necropolis of Chellah, the Hassan Tower, and the mausoleum of Mohamed V. Finally, you head to your hotel where you will spend the night.
Day 2: Meknes – Volubilis – Fes.
Your private tour continues towards Meknes, to discover its old Medina. It is the former Imperial City and the Ismaili capital that experienced its golden age in the 17th century, under the reign of King Moulay Ismail. It is famous for its wall 40 km long. A local guide will make you discover the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismaïl, the Greniers, the Lehdim Square, and the most beautiful Bab Mansour Gate, Dar El-Ma, royal stables, and the Jewish Quarter … Finally, you will continue to the spiritual city of Fes. Dinner and overnight in a Riad.
Day 3: Fes “visit of the city”
After breakfast, we begin to explore the oldest cultural and spiritual city of Morocco, walking through its streets and small streets. We will visit the Jewish headquarters, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built in the sixteenth century, and the gate of the royal palace. We will also visit the famous Qaraouine University, the oldest in North Africa, the Tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. Day 4: Fes – Chefchaouen
Your “Morocco holiday from Marrakech” continues today. You will cross the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen in the North. The afternoon will be devoted to the discovery of the beautiful town of Chefchaouen, where everything is theatrically opposed to the mountains. You will explore its colorful blue houses, cobblestone streets, and the mountain as a backdrop. This blue city offers a quiet and very photogenic setting with its souks and small streets. The night will be in a Riad.
Day 5: Chefchaouen – Ifran – Azrou – Midelt:
Today, you will leave Chefchaouen to go to Ifrane, the small mountain village nicknamed “Moroccan Switzerland”. During this stage, you will have a first glimpse of the Middle Atlas and the High Atlas Mountains. At the top of these mountains, you will make a short stop in the small Berber village of Azrou, set in the heart of a famous cedar forest. You will have the opportunity to see the Barbary Apes. After, you will continue your route along the mountainous hills of the Atlas to reach Midelt. The night will be in a hotel or a riad
Day 6: Midelt – Errachidia – Erfoud – Desert Merzouga.
Wake up early in the morning and drive towards the Merzouga Desert, crossing the fabulous Tiz Ntalghamt pass to the Ziz Valley. The valley offers impressive views of the High Atlas Plateau. Approaching Errachidia, the landscape changes gradually to give way to the desert. Lunch at Errachidia will be in a local restaurant where you will enjoy Berber hospitality. You will continue through the lush Ziz Valley where you will stop to enjoy the magnificent panoramas. The arrival in Merzouga will be at the end of the afternoon. The night will be at the hotel at the foot of the dunes of Erg Chebbi
Day 7: Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
Today, we learn more about the life of the Nomads during our off-road tour in the beautiful Erg Chebbi, where we will visit nomadic families who migrate and live in tents, and attend a dance show of African folk music. in the village of Khamlia and walk. In a desert oasis we discover the irrigation system of the region. At the end of the afternoon, you will ride camels (camel ride) to spend the night at the bivouac under a traditional Berber tent.
Day 8: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges
The alarm clock today will be early to witness the sunrise and enjoy the silence of the desert. After breakfast and shower, your tour continues to Todra Gorge in Tinghir. You will discover the trails of the High Atlas and Berber villages. You will enjoy panoramic views. If time permits, you will go for a walk in one of the most beautiful palm groves of Morocco sheltering villages of mud and kasbahs uninhabited.
The Lunch will be under the majestic Canyons of Todra where several stuntmen exercise their sport. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey to the Dades Gorge crossing the road of the thousand kasbahs. Day 9: Dades – Agdez – Zagora – Chegaga Dunes
You will leave early towards the village of Agdz crossing the Col de Tizi n’Tinififft located 1660m above sea level. After arriving in Agdz for the coffee break, you will cross the Draa Valley admiring the incredible palm plantations and kasbahs. Lunch will be in Zagora at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will visit the underground village Tamegroute where you will admire the old Zaouia, the ancient Koranic Library, the pottery artisans, and the underground Kasbah. Then you will continue to the Oasis of Tagounite through Ait Isfoul. Arriving at M’hamid. You will take the road of the Desert until the Dunes of Chegaga to appreciate the sunset. Dinner and overnight in a bivouac.
Day 10: Chegaga – Foum Zguit – Taznakhte – Ouarzazate
The awakening will be early today to enjoy the sunrise over the Chegaga Dunes. After breakfast, you will go to Foum Zguit and cross-nomadic tent camps on the way. You will also visit the dry lake of Iriqui and the Akassia desert plateau. Lunch will be in an oasis. After we return to Ouarzazate where you will spend the night in a Riad.
Day 11: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech.
Today, you will visit the oasis of Fint and Berber families on the way. After you take the road to the village of Ait Benhaddou, the famous Kasbah, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Many movies were shot at this Kasbah like The Mummy and Gladiator …
You will visit the Kasbah with a Local guide and you will have lunch in a traditional restaurant. Finally, you will continue to Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass admiring the High Atlas Mountains.
